Whether or not you own Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire or completed the original skyscale collection, Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure will grant you a more streamlined collection to unlock a skyscale of your very own. The Raptor, Bunny, Skimmer, Rollerbeetle, Jackal, and Griffon (and ultimately skyscale) are ALL vastly more useful. In EoD you get 9 specs that even Anet is still trying to figure out what they do, so the nerfbattery whiplash will come fast and furious for months, while HoT and PoF specs outperform (and are simply more fun) than MOST of the EoDs.
If you unlock everything you can on one char (2 elite specification) you would be left with 404 hero points. Many assume that this is enough to unlock the next elite specification. At least that was the case with PoF, where we had enough hero points in core+HoT so that we could unlock the new elite specification at once.
Edit*To flesh out the example a bit using the Warrior. So new expansion coming and devs are deciding on the elite spec conceptWe'll start with weapons since new weapon is often a big deal when it comes to the new elite spec. There are 19 weapon types in the game and the Warrior can use 13 of them including the 2 current elite spec weapons Dagger
I have everything unlocked and still have 404 remaining hero points. At minimum if you were to not move outside the beginning instance, if you were to get to level 80 (ie: tomes of knowledge), you will have exactly enough hero points to unlock all skills and core specializations. That would unlock 'a new experience' for players who have already done it the 'traditional' way. But even if they do that, They should still require maxing two core specializations and 2 skill lines before allowing elite ones. That would ensure that at the very least you don't end up with only partial specializations and skill sets.
5 days ago · To begin training a specialization your character must be at least level 21, then follow the below steps. PvP players do not need to unlock anything, as all skills and traits available to the account will be unlocked while within the Heart of the Mists . Step 1: Open your Hero panel and go to the Training tab.
In order to first unlock your elite specialization, there are two important criteria that must be met: Your account must own the associated expansion in which the specialization was introduced. The character (of the corresponding base profession) must be Level 80.
