I've followed instructions in the manual about turning the igntion to "on" but not starting, depressing accelerator 3x within 10 seconds, then turning off. But it still doesn't reset.

30582 posts · Joined 2002. #3 · Aug 26, 2015. The differentials get changed on a regular schedule. Your Cherokee Owners Manual and the Jeep Factory Service Manual have the service intervals and all the recommended fluid types and specifications.
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6 V-6 - 51K Oil Pressure Sensor and the Oil Filter housing/Cooler have been replaced. Oil is Mobil 1 5w-30 full synthetic Oil filter is MOPAR With the engine warm, at idle, in gear, will see Oil Pressure in the 26lbs range. Front/Rear differential fluid change. Im ready to change the fluids in the front and rear differentials on my 2014 Gr Cherokee limited with quadratic II (3.6 V6). The dealer is asking $63 per qt and I need a little over 2 qts to do the job. I refuse to pay almost $200 for gear oil. The much more reasonable choices by me are Valvoline Synpower
I read in the 2014 eco diesel owners manual you should inspect the front and rear axle fluid every 2 years or 20k miles. It says to change it at that frequency if used off-road, towing, police use, etc. I changed my front and rear diff fluid on my 2012 3.6L wk2 around 50k after buying it at 30k.
No need for the overpriced ZF LifeGuard 8 fluid. I made a handy fluid transfer pump from a one gallon yard sprayer, only $10 at home depot. I added 1/2" clear tubing, a plastic ball valve, and a plastic 90º fitting on the end. The plastic end fitting fits perfectly in the fill hole.
